In the presence of His Excellency Faisal F. Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, Chairman of the National Infrastructure Fund, and Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan, the National Infrastructure Fund (Infra) and JPMorgan (JPMorgan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly pursue structured financing solutions for Saudi infrastructure.
The MOU establishes a framework for co-investment in Saudi infrastructure priorities by Infra and JPMorgan. A planned risk sharing framework will enable JPMorgan to grow the value of its senior financing of greenfield infrastructure projects, extending the bank’s strategic presence in the Saudi market.
The collaboration underscores the important role Infra plays in devising innovative solutions to grow and diversify financing sources for the Kingdom’s high-growth infrastructure market. Infra’s planned subordinated financing role will drive high additionality outcomes, build market depth, and support the scaling of foreign and institutional financing.
Infra CEO Eng. Esmail Alsallom commented: “Today’s MOU signals an exciting partnership between Infra and JPMorgan. Our work together highlights the confidence of institutional financing markets in the Kingdom’s infrastructure pipeline and the ability of Infra’s flexible financing menu to mobilize new sources of liquidity as delivery needs accelerate.”
Bader Al Amoudi, Managing Director and Senior Country Officer of JPMorgan – Saudi Arabia & Bahrain highlighted that: “Our collaboration with Infra builds on the recent launch of JPMorgan’s regional HQ in Riyadh. It highlights the bank’s ability to leverage market leading structuring and financing capabilities in support of the transformative ambition of Saudi Vision 2030.”
The MOU reflects Infra’s mandate to act as a catalyst for private and institutional participation in Saudi infrastructure, helping expand the Kingdom’s access to diversified, sustainable capital and reinforcing its position as a leading destination for global infrastructure investment.
